Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme is a whopping 70km² of snowy terrain to explore and ski across, at any level of comfort or expertise. The Snowy Valleys Winter Festival is a month-long event that occurs during the months of June and July. The event features skiing competitions, Snow making, snowboard races, fireworks, and much more. Spring is a time when nature awakens from its winter slumber and blossoms into newness. The Autumn Leaves Festival held on the first weekend in April in Tumut is a celebration of the natural beauty of this season. The festival features many activities, including a grand parade, art exhibitions, classic car shows, musical entertainment, and sporting events. The spring season is also the perfect time to visit the Snowy Valleys Vineyards. Explore the wineries, sample the stunning selections, and enjoy the scenic countryside.
Summer Events:
Summer is a time when Snowy Valleys region is bursting with vibrant colors and a festive atmosphere. The Tumbarumba Rodeo is a popular event in January that showcases the region's best horse riding skills and cattle roping. The Tumbarumba Wine Walk is another popular event that occurs on the first weekend in March, where vineyards invite visitors to sample the region's finest wines, foods, and music. There's also the Batlow Ciderfest, which celebrates all-things-apples and cider in the quaint town of Batlow. The festival features entertainment, food, and drink vendors, and a vibrant cultural experience.
Autumn Events:
Autumn in Snowy Valleys is a sight to behold, with the multi-colored leaves creating a magnificent natural wonderland. The Tumut Festival of the Falling Leaves is a celebration of Autumn's beauty that occurs during the last weekend of April. It features a grand street parade, vintage car displays, entertainment, and food vendors. The National Cherry Blossom Festival held in Young, the Cherry Capital of Australia, is the perfect time to witness the beautiful pink blooms and indulge in cherry-inspired food and drinks.
